Holiday Makers Morning: Beeswax Candles
Bundle up and join the Waldorf School of Baltimore on the good neighbor patio for a special holiday collab, creating stunning beeswax candles.
Perfect for children and their grownup's alike, we will delve into the captivating world of beeswax, a natural and aromatic material known for its unique qualities and and enjoy a seasonally themed candle making experience, where you’ll create and bring home two beeswax candles. All supplies - and a warming cup of cocoa - provided.
9am Session: Hand-Rolling Beeswax Candles, and decorating with colored beeswax cut outs. This is a wonderful morning program perfect for our littlest makers, 2+ (though all ages can certianly enjoy this craft).
11am Session: Hand-Dipping beeswax candles, and gift wrapping using natural and foraged materials. Hand-dipping tapered candles is an ancient craft that remains unaltered to this day. The rhythmic process of dipping cotton wick into hot wax – slowly building layer upon layer – connects one with both past and current moment. The result is a pair of beautiful beeswax candles for home or gifting. Its a wonderful activity for children (8+) and grown-ups alike.
Notes:
*Wear clothing that is warm and that you wouldnt mind a drop of beeswax spilling upon
*Purchase one ticket for every 2 candles you wish to create (if you are just accompanying your child, no need to purchase two tickets)
