ABOUT ABOUT

Sunday, May 1,  10:00am | Ivy Bookshop

Join us on the covered patio for a safe, fun and special seasonal celebration. This special program is best for children up to age 9 and will include songs, storytime, a festive holiday craft and sweet lemon-stick treat. We will end the morning by inviting children and their families to learn a simple walking/skipping pattern with the rainbow colored ribbons around a the May Pole.

Families are invited to bring a blanket brought from home to spread out on the Ivy's expansive grassy and wooded grounds to create their craft and enjoy their special holiday snack. Make a day of it by visiting the bookshop and packing a picnic to enjoy!

May Day is a traditional celebration of the peak of spring –the bursting forth of flowers and blooms from the once firm, cold Earth, new possibilities and ideas, and increasing sunshine!  In the cycle of the year, May Day is the half-way point between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice.

All are welcome.
